Two Boys and A Dream of Making India Employable-The Nextoffer.com
When you come out of college with a degree in hand a dream of landing a perfect job in your mind, you are greeted by a stark reality, “you are not employable”. What???? Yes!!!! And you want to shout, “But I have the required degree. What else makes me employable”. The answer would be, “Practical Skills”. In today’s competitive world, an MBA or a B.Tech is not enough.
And you want to shout, “But I have the required degree. What else makes me employable”. The answer would be, “Practical Skills”. In today’s competitive world, an MBA or a B.Tech is not enough. Organizations want to hire people who are “job ready”. Those people who not only have theoretical knowledge but possess practical skills too, who wouldn’t require additional training, who can right away get started by themselves.

Unfortunately, this is something our Indian education system has not yet fully understood. Barring a handful of premier institutions of our country, majority of educational institutions still impart only theoretical knowledge. The result- You know a lot but you are not able to implement it.
Of course, not all of us have enough brains (not literally) or in some cases enough money to get admitted to these premier institutions. So, with our average IQ or average income or may be both, we go to average Indian educational institutions where there is a lot of theory and little or no practice. And if you have a below average IQ or income, then only God can help you.
But this is no deep insights, almost every Indian or should I say every Indian who has been there, done that, knows it very well. But like all other things in our country, we have an answer for this too, “What can I do, I cannot change the education system, this is for the Govt. to do”. That is not true, there is always a little something that we as individuals can do when we really wish to change something.
Kumar Rahul and Debtanu Mukherjee are two childhood friends who understood that rather than unemployment, the actual problem in India is unemployability. Instead of saying, I cannot change the education system, they decided to do their bit. They founded “the Nextoffer.com” to create Engagement, Enhancement and Employment for the Indian youth. They decided to make the youth employable to get them employed.
